EXPLOSION IN A FACTORY.
CHARGES AGAINST FIRM. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, March 24. The case against Knowles and Chadwick in connection with the Tipton explosion is based on the ground •that.the Home Office was not aware that Knowles was going to break up cartridges, for which operation he had no permit. He entirely neglected the provisions of the Explosives Act. As the first witness was called a woman in court screamed. She had just been informed that her daughter, a victime of the explosion, was dead.
