EARLY HISTORY.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —As a constant reader of the News I should like to say how interested I am in “The Pages of the Past” column every Saturday. In last Saturday’s issue mention is made of the first coach through to New Plymouth. Amongst the number was a Mr. Reimenschrieder, of Waitotara, who, I am sorry to say, passed away in the Wanganui hospital on March 18; 1922, at the age of 7(2 years. He was a very interesting man to talk to regarding the early troubles on this coast, and a keen Maori linguest. I thought I slyiuld like to mention this to you seeing his name was mentioned in Saturday’s issue as an old pioneer,—l am, etc., G. WICKHAM. Waitotara, March 20.
