ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION.

An attempt was made tp assassin;* the Chinese Minister Tchengloh, wm», in company with Tsangou, a well-known Chinese engineer, was proceeding to a reception, when a Chinaman fired four shots at the Minister, who was .act injured, but Tsangou was wounded. CULPRIT’S LAME EXCUSE. Received March 22, 11.50 p.m. Paris* March 21. The man who attacked the Chinese Minister was a student. He fired four shots \at the motor car. The engineer accompanying the Minister was wounded in the head. The assailant immediately gave himself up to the police. He stated he had fired because the Minister showed little regard for Chinese residents in Paris. *—Reuter Service.
