An attempt was made tp assassin;* the Chinese Minister Tchengloh, wm», in company with Tsangou, a well-known Chinese engineer, was proceeding to a reception, when a Chinaman fired four shots at the Minister, who was .act injured, but Tsangou was wounded. CULPRIT’S LAME EXCUSE. Received March 22, 11.50 p.m. Paris* March 21. The man who attacked the Chinese Minister was a student. He fired four shots \at the motor car. The engineer accompanying the Minister was wounded in the head. The assailant immediately gave himself up to the police.
