METHODIST CENTENARY.

NEW PLYMOUTH CELEBRATIONS. A gathering in connection with the celebration of 100 years of Methodism in New Zealand was held in the Whiteley Hall, New Plymouth, last evening, when the Rev. W. J. Elliott presided over a large attendance. A report on the Centenary Conference, held at Auckland recently, was given by Mr. J. T. Griffin, one of the New Plymouth delegates, who gave details of conference business, discussions, deputations, etc., day by day during the week (February 21 to 28) conference was in session. Messrs. W. H. Skinner and P. J. H. > White, who followed, gave very inter-/ esting addresses on the history oTMethodism in New Plymouth from the' very early days dining the troublous times of the Maori war, tracing its growth and development up to the present day. These reminiscences were greatly appreciated by those present, and, on the motion of Mr. C. E. Bellringer, seconded by Mr. Boon, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the speakers.
