The death occurred at Hawera on Tuesday of Mrs. Cullinan, wife of Mr. E. Cullinan. Deceased, who had been ailing for some time, was well known and highly respected by a very large number of residents ell over the district. She had resided in Hawera for about 30 years, and before coming to Hawera with her husband lived at Patea, where Mr. Cullinan was in business.—Star.

Much regret was expressed in Manaia when news was received of the sudden death of Mr. Martin Howard, bricklayer, which took place at Ohakune on Saturday night, where he was working. Mr. Howard had been a resident of Manaia for 26 years, and was held in very high esteem by all in the district. He leaves a widow and seven of a family—three daughters and four eons: Mrs. Parish (of Eltham), Beatrice, Annie, Raymond, Reginald, Mason, and Lionel

News has been received in Dannevirke of the death of the Rev. Mr. Nicholl, at Auckland. Deceased was one of the pioneer Presbyterian ministers in Hawke’s Bay. He commenced his ministry in Wairoa in June, 1878, and from there he wfcnt to Havelock North in 1881, and after being stationed there for six years he went to Hampden, in the South Island.
