SUCCESSOR TO DR. CHAMPTALOUP. Bv Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. Ttie Otago University Council has appointed Dr. Peter MacCa'llum, assistant clinical pathologist at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, as Professor of Bacteriology and Public Health, as successor to Dr. Champtaloup, who died last September. The new professor is 36 years of age, and a New Zealander. He was educated at Christ’s College, Christchurch, and at Canterbury College. Dr. Denltam, a member of the council,, has given notice to rescind the motion appointing Dr. MacCa'llum. This will be considered at a special meeting of the council to be held at an early date.
