Martin, assistant at the Stratford primary school, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Martin, of Stratford, has been advised that she has t passed the first section of the B.A. degree which she sat for at the Victoria University, Wellington, in November last. The death occurred yesterday of’Mrs. Annie Osborn, wife of Mr. Charles F. Osborn. Mrs. Osborn, who was a daughter of the late Mr. John Smith, for many* years a member of the Stratford County Council, leaves one daughter, her other daughter having died during the epidemic. Cr. T. R. Anderson was on Saturday appointed the Stratford County Council’s representative on the Egmont National Park Board. TUTUTAWA SHORTS. In the evening a dance was held in the hall, and despite the inclement weather the hall was filled to overflowing with dancers. Miss Walters, and Messrs. Walker, Mann, Moir, Smith and Waite supplied the music. During the evening Mr. J. Norris obliged tl«f company with a step dance, and Mr. R. Hignett contributed a song, both items being encored. A sale of 300 cases of fruit is advertised for 2 p.m. to-day at Lamason’s mart. A number of good second-hand typewriters, in first-class condition, for sale; Remington, Smith Premier, Monarch, .
