The recess Parliamentary committee oi licensing laws met to-day to hear evlence as to what amendments may be necessary in the event of national nc license not being carried in Decembe next. Representatives from the Mierate League and representatives fren the King Country were heard at the morning and afternoon sittings. Th. committee met again in the evening to hear representatives from the Auciand brewers. • Vtnesses from the King Country urgl that the question of whether thei was to be no license or license in that district should be decided by a poll of the electors, as in the rest of the tominion. Tl Auckland witnesses gave evidence in rrard to questions relating to hotel management.
