CHARGE MANSLAUGHTER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, March 18. Robert Dasler, a laborer, of Sydenham. was arrested to-day on a charge of the manslaughter of Edward Samuel Darrell, who died at Christchurch Hospital on March 13. At the inquest on Darrell early in the week, it transpired that deceased was found lying at the back of the Opera House on the evening of March 6. He was arrested for drunkenness, but was subsequently admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. There he complained that he had fallen and hurt his head. Prior to his arrest Dasler had stated to the police that he and deceased had an altercation on the afternoon of March G, after which blows were struck.
