PERSONAL.
Mr. W. H. Atack, manager of the Press Association, Wellington, who has been on a holiday visit to New Plymouth and Taranaki, returns to Wellington by the mail train this morning. He is accompanied by his daughter. The Hon. W. Nosworthy, Minister for Agriculture arrived at Reefton at midday on Saturday and received a deputation. He was entertained to luncheon, and left in the afternoon for Maruia Springs, via the Inangahua Valley, and expected to reach Murchison on Sunday evening. Mr. Maurice Rogers, of Victoria University College, has received advice that he has completed his B.Sc. degree, and obtained a senior university scholarship i n physics. Mr. Rogers, who is a Stratford High School old boy, is at present holding the National Research Scholarship at Victoria College. Sir Charles K. Mackellar has retired from the position of president of the board of directors of the Bank of New South Wales after 20 years’ service in the office. At a meeting of the board in Sydney last week, Mr. Thomas Buckland, who has been a director for 13 years, was appointed president. He is a nephew of a former president of the bank.
