SPORTS AT CHRISTCHURCH. CHAMPIONSHIPS DECIDED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The St. Patrick’s Sports Association’s meeting commenced to-day before a good attendance. A fairly strong south-westerly wind blew during the afternoon. Following are the results of the cash events:— 440 Yards New Zealand Championship.—F. Trembath, the ex-amateur champion (Invercargill) 1, Symister (Christchurch) 2, Nahr (Westport) 3. Won easily by twelve yards. Steel, the All Black three-quarter, was running second but fell three yards from the tape. Time, 53 l-ssec. One Mile New Zealand Championship.—L. Coulter (Geraldine) 1, Sutherland (Palmerston South) 2. Won by ten yards. Time, 4min. 40 l-ssec. Trembath won the 440 yards handicap in 51 Cash cycling results are:— Two Miles New Zealand Championship.—PO'Shea (Christchurch) 1, Birch (Christchurch) 2, Wells (Blenheim) 3. Won very easily. Ttaie, smin. 41sec. Five Miles Australasian Championship.— George (Christchurch) 1, Hill (Christchurch)2. O’Shea fell. Won comfortably. Time, 13 min. 45sec. In the amateur events Taylor won the 100 yards handicap. In the 880 yards handicap Taylor, from scratch, finished fifth.
