BOWLING.
WANGANUI v. TARANAKI YESTERDAY’S MATCHES. p The visit of Wanganui bowlers to Taranaki yesterday was marred by showery weather, but both the morning and afternoon matches were played on the Fitzroy green, some very good heads resulting, the standard of merit being above the average, though at times short deliveries made the work of the skips very difficult. The opposing teams were fairly evenly matched, the morning’s play resulting in a win for the visitors by three points, averaging half a point at each of the six rinks. In the afternoon the honors went to Taranaki, with 132 points against Wanganui’s 107. Details of the play are as follow, Wanganui names being mentioned first at each rink:— MORNING GAME.
