Canadian Constructor, left New York on March 2 for Australia, Wellington, New Plymouth and Auckland. Due here in May. LEITRIM ALONGSIDE. The Federal liner Leitrim, the fifty-sixth overseas vessel to berth at New Plymouth, and the eighth to enter port this year, was brought alongside shortly before 9 o’clock yesterda.v morning by the harbormaster (Captain Waller). The vessel tad arrived off the port on Wednesday evening and dropped anchor. She is a comparatively new steamer, having been fcjiilt in 1915 by Messrs. Rayton. Dickson and Co., Ltd., Middlesborough-on-Tees. This is the vessel’s firs’’ visit to New Plymouth. Her principal dimensions are: Lenth overall 492 feet, breadth 60 feet, gross tonnage 9540 tons. She Is driven by’ turbine engines and twin screws. At the time of entering the port her draught was 22ft. 3in. forward and 22ft. Ilin. aft. Captain A. Robertson is in command of the vessel, and tas with him the following officers: First, J. Richmond; second, C. Broughton; third, H. S. Williams; fourth, R. Paine; surgeon, D. Brown, M.8.E.; wireless operator, J. Martin; purser, J. Lander; chief engineer, W. A. Gardiner; second, H. Armstrong; third, A. Stewart ; fourth, H. Muir; fifth, 11. Grant; sixth, O. Millar; seventh, J. Adams; first refrigerating engineer, C. Brown ; second, P. Wilson. A start was made immediately with the loading of the vessel, the cargo to be shipped from here comprising 16,000 freight carcases of meat and 500 hides, all from Messrs. Borthwick’s works, Waitara. It is hoped to dispatch the vessel to-morrow about noon for Wellington, which port she will leave three days later for all West Coast ports of the United Kingdom. THE RARAWA. The Rarawa left Onehunga at 3.30 p.m. yesterday for New Plymouth. It was thought that the Manukau bar, which she would cross near low water, might hold up the vessel. Otherwise she will arrive here 'this morning and return north at 8.30 to-night. CORINNA TO-MORROW’. Tbe Corinna, which is bringing general cargo to New Plymouth and taking butter and cheese for transhipment to the Somerset and Port Adelaide at Wellington, is due at Wellington to-day from Lyttelton, and is to sail this afternoon for New Plymouth, via Nelson. OVERSEA MOVEMENTS. London, March 15.—Arrived: At Suez, Greldon and Ullstad; at Colon, I’ort Denison. Sailed: For Wellington, Waimana; from Norfolk, Clnn Morrison. CORINTHIC IN HEAVY WEATHER. A wireless message was received on Wednesday evening from the Shaw, Savill liner Corinthic, en route from Southampton, advising that the vessel was experiencing heavy weather. If the weather moderated she expected to reach Wellington on Monday imornCANADIAN SCOTTISH CLEARED. The most recent clearance notified to the Auckland office of the Canadian Government Mercantile Marine is the Canadian Scottish, from Vancouver, on March 11. Her first New Zealand port will be Lyttelton, and she will proceed northwards, calling at Auckland before leaving for Australia to complete discharge. CARGO FROM NEW YORK. ' In continuation of l:er voyage from New York, the Canadian Spinner is to leave Auckland this evening fur Wellington. She Is due at Wellington on Monday. THE KAITL’NA. The Union Company advises that the Kaituna will now leave Auckland to-day for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The vessel is due at Wellington on Tuesday. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. ARRIVED. Brisbane.
