After a stormy meeting the NewSouth Wales Swimming Association reinstated Hardwick as an amateur by 75 votes to 7. The president, Mr. James Taylor, ruled the matter out of order. His decision was dissented from, whereupon Mr. Taylor and the remainder of the officials resigned. The meeting persuaded Mr. L. Duff, secretary, to withdraw his resignation.
