AUSTRALIA PAYING THE BILL. By Telegraph.—Press Asnn.—Copyright. (Received March 15, 9.15 p.m. London, March 14. On behalf of Australia the High Commissioner (Sir Joseph Cook) paid the British Government £4,750,000 on account of war expenditure, including principal and interest. Sir Joseph Cook, commenting on the payment, said: “It appears to me we are, with the exception of our sister Dominions, the one debtor nation of all the Allies meeting promptly our full war obligations, and we are glad to be able to da it.” —Aus.-N.Z.
