BOXING.

MATCH IN AMERICA. AN OPPONENT FOR DEMPSEY. By Telegraph.—“ Press Assn.—Copyright. Received March 14, 7.35 p.m. New York, March 13. Harry Greb defeated Tom Gibbons to-night in a bout scheduled for fifteen rounds. This was a surprise to boxing experts, who had unanimously prophesied that Gibbons would win. The fight was considered important, for many believe the winner will be given an opportunity of meeting Dempsey for the championship. At least the winner will probably meet Carpentier in the near future, when the next opponent to the champion is likely to be chosen. —A .-N.Z. Cable Assn.
