ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
AN AGED WIDOW’S DEATH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. An aged widow named Agnes Parsons was found dead at. her daughter’s residence to-day. She had apparently taken poison. A HARVESTER KILLED. Invercargill, Last Night. While engaged in harvesting on his farm at Haddon Bush yesterday T. Cairns fell backwards off a. dray in consequence of the horse suddenly moving forward. His head struck the ground violently, his neck being broken. CRUSHED TO DEATH. Auckland, Last Night. Basil A. Scanlon, aged 32, died instantly as the result of being crushed by falling from a waggon while carting logs for a mill at Tuakau. He was a returned soldier. FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT. Invercargill, March 11. William John Harris, aged 60 years, a well-known farmer of Tetua, was killed, through a motor-car backing over a bank and capsizing. Deceased was pinned underneath the car and when released life was extinct. He leaves a widow and a grown-up family.
