N.Z. MILKING SHORTHORN
BRANCH FORMED IN TARANAKI. A meeting of milking .Shorthorn breeders was held at New Plymouth during show week, among those present being Messrs. J. R. Anderson, president of the New Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association, who presided. >S. Morgan, vice-president, and W. Hunter, secretary; also Messrs. C. Hoskin, A. Turnbull, Knox, Thomas, McWhirter, and Belcher. Apologies were received from Meers. Washer, Greenaway, J. C. Wright, and Turnbull, sen. The chairman explained that the meeting had been called with the object of forming a branch of the Milking Shorthorn Association in Taranaki, and after some discussion a decision to thie effect was unanimously arrived at. Mr. C. Hoskin was elected chairman of the branch and the following committee was appointed: —Messrs. Turnbull, Knox, Thomas, McWhirter, Belcher, Wright and Washer. Mr. Hoskin was elected, representative of the branch on the council of the parent body. Various matters of interest were discussed, notably the desirability of issuing a standard for the guidance of judges.
