STRATFORD.

STRATFORD AGENCY. Advertisements and items of news for publication in the Taranaki Dally News should be left at the office of our local representatative, Mr. W. H. Humphrey, Broadway, Stratford. Orders for papers may also be left with him. TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL. THE OFFICIAL OPENING. March 13. The new Stratford Technical High School will be officially opened to-mor-row afternoon by the Minister for Education, Hon. C. J. Parr. The Minister and Mrs. Parr will arrive in Stratford from New Plymouth after lunch, and will proceed to the school, Where the opening ceremony is fixed for 3 p.m. The Minister will be presented by the advisory committee with a silver key as a memento of the occasion. Afternoon tea will be dispensed to official visitors at 4 o'clock in the High School building.

Hop, step and jump.—R. Pattinson, N. Meuli. GENERAL. The death took place to-day of a very old resident of Stratford in the person of Mr. Richard Wheeler, of Hamlet Street South. Mr. Wheeler, who had lived in Stratford for some time, was previously farming on Bird Road. Mrs. Watkins, of Celia Street, is a sister of deceased. The A. and P. Association has expended a Jot of time and energy in preparing the oval of the showground for the carnival on March 23. Nominations for the athletic events close tomorrow. A number of good second-hand typewriters, in first-class condition, for sale: Remington, Smith Premier, Monarch, YostTßarlock, Royal, Remington Junior and Oliver. Prices from £7 7s to £25.
