STRATFORD MODEL FARM. The regular monthly meeting was held on Wednesday last, there being present Messrs. J. W. Deem (chairman), J. B. Richards, S. Pitt. W. H. Were, K. Tarrant and E. Marfell, an apology being received from Mr. M. T. Phillips. The question of Stratford members visiting Moumahaki was fully discussed, and the matter was left in the hands of the chairman with a request that an endeavor be made for the visit to take place on Wednesday, 29th instant. Seeds and Manures. —The estimate for March, is as under: Seeds, 28 bushels oats, approximate cost 6s per bushel; manures, Uewt. basic super, approximate cost £8 per ton, and nitrate of soda approximate cost 71s 6d. The manager’s report, which was adopted, stated: —Fifty-two cows are being milked,' the quantity of milk for the month being 34,3181b5. The test averaged 4.3 for the month. If weather permits, it has been arranged to sow Ruakura oats. I would like to bring this before the committee with a view to having it cross-drilled and sown with 4? bushels of oats instead of three; and the quantity of manure to be used.—lt was resolved that for test purposes 2 acres at least, of Field 1; be drilled with 3 bushels one way, and that the balance be cross-drilled with 4 bushels.
