The Government has mobilised several units of the defence force at Johannesburg, including artillery. The authorities have issued a warning that if commandos refuse to disperse after a warning aeroplane machine-gun fire will be used. During various attacks by strikers on natives four strikers, nine natives, and one Indian were killed and many wounded. The natives are now arming with heavy bludgeons. HOOLIGANS FIRE ON NATIVES. Capetown, March 8. It transpires that an attack on natives was also made in Marshall Square, the heart of Johannesburg, hooligans firing recklessly on the natives and colored people. The acene was watched by crowds of spectators.
