RACING IN AUSTRALIA THE. FLEMINGTON MEETINg. EURYTHMIC WINS STAKES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received March 9, 8.10 pjm. Melbourne, March 9. The weather was bright and warm for the Flemington races, and there was a good attendance. Stall was fourth at the home turn In the hurdles and just won. There was great interest in the meeting of Eurythmic and Furious in the Lloyd Stakes. Eurythmie was lying last four lengths away when three furlongs from home and then | came with a surprising run and won brilliantly from W'ish Wynne, who led early in the race. Eurythmic and tls rider, Dempsey, were vociferously cheered. Eurythmic has now won £32,616 in stakes. The last half-mile was done in 48sec. There was a. great race in the Governor’s Plate. Stare led early in the race, but Saiitios was first into the straight. Stare came again, and Tangalooma challenged the pair and dead-heated with Stare. The last four furlongs were done in 47%5ec., and the last six in imin. 14sec. The owners divided the stake. Following are the results of the principal events:— AUTUMN HURDLES.—StaII 10.0 1, Front Rank 9.2 2, Foreigner 10.13 3. Six starters. Won by a short head, three-quarters of a length between second and third. Time, 4 min. 51sec. C. M. LLOYD STAKES.—Eurythmic 9.1 1, Wish Wynne 8.11 2, Furious 8.3 3. Also ran : Whizz Bang. Won by a length and a half, three lengths between second and third. Time, Imin. 39%sec.
