COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, March 8. At the Commercial Travellers’ Conference a report was received of work done during the year on behalf of blinded soldiers and sailors. There was a balance of £3700 in hand, and £670 had been recently received from the Canterbury Association, the proceeds of a benefit trotting meeting. The trustees had assisted nine of the 24 blind men, and the association had a representative in every place where there was a blind soldier or sailor, who saw that the man lacked nothing. The Ancient Order of Druids had £6OO in hand ear-marked for the benefit of those blinded on service, and the association had applied for the money, ks it was the only fund, apart from the National War Funds. The council was authorised to act for the men. It was decided that the Canterbury Association should be represented on the Board of Trustees.
Mr. Thompson (Auckland) was elected president, and it was agreed that the next conference should be >held in Auckland.
