CORRESPONDENCE.

STRAYING CATTLE. x, (To the Editor.) Sir, —Would you kindly allow me a small space re the above First of all, where is the Inglewood County ranger? Has he died out, or has he been too busy elsewhere? Anyhow, it is about time something was done down our way before someone gets gored by a bull or kicked by a horse. .Really it is disgraceful the way stock is allowed to stray on the road, especially between Tariki and Ratapiko. On a recent Sunday no less than eleven horses were at large. Some well-known horses are watched by a faithful dog. Mana Road, Ratapiko, is fairly well stocked by careless owners, including a vicious Jersey bull. The latter animal has been known to stick people up. Where would a child be coming along a road like that? Cows and horses are bad enough, but bulls should be barred.—l am, etc., A TRAVELLER. Ratapiko, March 3.
