RECORD BUTTER OUTPUT.
AUCKLAND DISTRICT FIGURES. PREVIOUS TOTALS EXCEEDED. It is anticipated that the total shipment of butter from the Auckland i Province this season will reach 1.000,000 boxes, as the export figures compiled by the. Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company already exceed .the total of last season’s record output. The favorable climatic conditions have resulted in a good supply of feed, and the output will constitute a. record for butter, dxltnough cheese has so far decreased somewhat. The number of boxes of butter received into the. works this season is 807,012, compared with 605,718 during the corresponding period last season, an increase of 201,294 boxes, or 33.2 per cent. During February 9.1,396 boxes were shipped from Auckland, compared with 85,394 in February. 1921. Of this quantity, 5000 were taken by the Tahiti, 6039 by the Niagara, 40,073 by the Ruapehu, and 40,284 by the Opawa. The cheese received into the works this season shows a decrease of 31.7 per cent, on the totals for the same period last year, the quantity being 91,372 crates as against 133,766. Of this quantity 13,105 crates were shipped last month, compared with 14,599 crates in February, 1921. The comparative figures of the quantities of butter and cheese received into the works each year ended June 30, for the last seven years makes interesting reading. The totals are:
