LOCAL ELECTIONS.
LONDON COUNTY POLLS. By Telegraph.- -Press Assn.—Copyright. Received March 4, 5.5 p.m. London, March 3. The London County Council elections resulted: Municipal reformers (whose chief plank was economy) 82, a gain of 14, progressives, 25, a loss of 13, Labor 15. a loss of 1. It was notable for individual results, such as the defeat of Mr. Harry Gosling, the Labor leader, at Kennington which returned one progressive and one reformer. Mr. Gosling attributes his defeat to a combination of the opposing parties and Labor’s lack of funds for adequate organisation. A feature was largely increased polls.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
