Mr. Brooks, on behalf of the employers, (dated that the proposals of the employees coutemmg a clause for the socialisation of industry showed such a -wide divergence of views between the parties that the employers did not propose to discuss them further, as nothing done at the conference could bridge the gulf between the workers’ policy of destruction, and the employers’ policy of construction.
