NAPIER MANSLAUGHTER CASE. By Telegraph—Press Association Napier, March li Morgan Davies, the Hawke’s? Bay sheep farmer, who stood his trial on a charge of manslaughter in connection with the death of a boy of 6J years near Hastings in November last, was admitted to probation for three years, during which time he is to be prohibited and mtTst not drive a car. His Honor said he was i-.atisiied the accused was drunk at the time of the accident when he failed to stop after knocking the child down. His Honor said that the jury’s recommendation to mercy had persuaded him to admit the prisoner to probation.
