It is rumored here that- Mr. Fielding (Canadian Minister for Finance), who Is now In New Y’ork, is negotiating foi a loan of one hundred million dollars. NEWTON KING, LTD. REPORTS. At Stratford on February 21, we report a full yarding of sheep and moderate one of cattle. The former ehowed an easing in. values whilst tlie latter remained at late levels. A good clearance was made. We quote: 4-year-old ewes 14s, cull do. 6s 4Jd, lambs 7s, 9s 6d, inferior do. 3s 6d, 4s, weaner. heifers 13s, 14s, 20s, weaner steers 6s, 9s, heifers r.wb. £4 ss, store cows 255, 325, better conditioned do. £2 ss, £2 10s, light fat do. £3, £4 Is, bulls £2 10s, £2 15s. At Inglewood on the following day both sheep and cattle yards were fully taxed. Sheep opened with rather a dull tone, but the bulk of the offering eventually sold. Cattle were in keen demand right throughout, and the whole yarding sold. There was a conspicuous improvement in the weaner market. Woolly lambs 6s 6d, 8s 4d, shorn do. Bs, Ils 6d, small do. 4s 9d, 2-tooth wethers 12s 6d. 4 and 6-tooth ewes 13s, mixed age do. 6s 4d, 6s 6d, weaner heifers 245, 275, 365, choice Holstein do. £2 Ils, Jersey do. £2 18s, £3 Is, 18-month empty heifers £2 7s, heifers r.w.b. £2, £2 ss, up to £4, weaner steers 13s 6d, 15s, 18-month steers 325. 37s 6d, 2%-year-old do. £2, £2 lis, £2 12s 6d, store cows 255, 375, forward do. £2 4s, £2 12s 6d, fat do. £3 2s (id, £4 2s, boner bulls from 17s 6d up to £3. At Rahotu on 22nd ult. weaner heifers made 225, empty heifers 345, 395, weaner steers 15s, 18-month do. 355, £2, store cows 12s, £1 13s, fat do. £3 17s 6d, £4 Bs, lambs 10s Id. I Al Urutl on February 27, we report a full yarding of cattle and small one of sheep. The market tad a quieter tone throughout, and values were easier in consequence. A good clearance was made. 2-tooth Romney rams 2gns, full-mouth ewes 'Bs 3d, 8s 6d, forward wethers 15s 6d. 2, 4 and 6-tooth do. 11S 4d. lambs 5s 6d, 6s, 6s 9d, cull do. 3s, weaner heifers 14s, Jersey do. £3 Is, £3 15s, £3 16s, empty heifers £2 2s 6d, £4 10s, store cows 20s, 2fis, fresh conditioned do. £2, £2 12s, 2%-year-old steers 38s 6d, £2 3s 6d, £2 13s 6d, 3%-year bullocks £3 3s, forwafi do. £8 17s 6d, £4 3s. At Stony River on February 28, a full yarding of cattle came forward, the bulk of which sold.
