COLLISION AT SEA.

DAMAGE TO A SCHOONER. By Telegraph—Press Association Christchurch, Last Night. The auxiliary schooner Zita, which was in collision with the Maori early on Sunday morning, put back to Lyttelton to-night, being unable to make progress owing to heavy seas, adverse winds and the absence of head sails, due to smashing the jib boom. The damage caused by the collision is rather extensive. The jib boom was broken in two places, the port bow above the deck smashed for a distance of thirty feet, the small deckj house shattered and the starboard bow stove in for about twelve feet. Below the ship is quite sound and has not made any water. Repairs will be carried out at Lyttelton.
