THE PAPAWAI MEETING \ -rn I TUE KING’S FIFTY FOUND. • 1 TARANAKI MAN LEADING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Greytown, Night. The rifle shooting meeting was continued at Papawai to-day. The possession of the following trophies waa dependent upon various combinations of matches decided today:— The Maunsell Challenge Cup, for the highest aggregate at 600, 800 and 900 yards (possible 375), was won by Roots, with 347. The Rivers Challenge Shield, for the highest aggregate at 800 and 900 yards (possible 200), was won by Roots with 189. The Tyro Cup, for the highest aggregate in all the matches of the Belt series (possible 525), was won by J. C. Feast (Greytown) with 475, followed by W. J. Green (Okawa) and Goldfinch (Wellington), each 466. Following is the corrected list of the King’s Fifty to fire for the Ballinger Rifle Champion Beit to-morrow:—

The weather this afternoon was blazing hot when the champion teams’ match was fired. Some good shooting was registered, though occasional gusts of wind swept across the range. The match was for five men aside, seven shots at 200, 300 and 600 yards. It was won by Opaki 474 (King 102, H. Donald 98. H. Marley 93, V. Donald 91, G. Hood 90). Karori was second with 465, and Petone third with 461.
The Colonial Ammunition Shield, for the best fiv£ men teams' aggregate throughout the whole Belt series, went to Christchurch No. 1 with 2384 points, Hawera 2318, Petone 2302.
The Colonial Ammunition Company’s Cup, for the best five men teams aggregate at the four long ranges (800 and 900 yards shoots), was won by Christchureh No. 1, with 924, points, Karori 886, Hawera 874.
The North Island versus South Island match, for teams of twenty men aside, seven shots each at 500 and 600 yards, was won after a keen fight by North. South had a slight lead at 500 yards, but North pulled it up at the longer range and won by 1214 to 1201. Following is the prize list in the Dominion match, ten shots at 900 yards: £8 10s —W. A.
