DYNAMITE IN A MINE. TROUBLE IN AFRICA. VIOLENCE INCREASING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Received Feb. 28, ’.lO a.m. Capetown, Feb. 27. The worst dynamite outrage during the strike is reported from the City Deep mine, where five explosions occurred in an attempt to destroy the whole electric system, but although some damage was done the desired effect was not attained. Violence on the reef -is increasing. Police reinforcements are arriving and the recruiting of special constables is proceeding satisfactorily. A crisis has arisen at the municipal power station, owing to a decision of the council to use what i-s said, to be black coal. The federation issued orders that if thia is done the men must refuse to handle it and strike.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
