FIRE AT CROSS CREEK.
FOUR ENGINES DAMAGED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Feb. 27. By a fire in the engine-shed at Cross Creek, at the foot of the Rimutaka incline, four engines were badly damaged, and it will be some months before they aie repaired. The shed was destroyed, also a quantity of stores. Some brake vans were saved. The origin of the fire is unknown. There will be no dislocation of traffic, as replacements can be secured from Napier and other stations.
