Wellington and Australian ports. THE RARAWA. Tie Rafawa maejp a smart passage of a little over 16 hours freun Wellington, arriving at New Plymouth on Saturday morning. She sailed for Onehungu at 8.30 p.m. on Saturday, and is again due here at about 5.30 a.m. to-mo Trow. CORINNA ON WEDNESDAY. The Cnrinna was due to arrive at Wellington bn Saturday, and is scheduled to leave there to-day for New Plymouth via Nelson. The vessel should roach here on Wednesday, and will later go on to Onehunga.
THE KAHIKA ARRIVES. The Kahlka arrived from South Island ports and Wellington yesterday. The vessel has about 900 tons of cargo *o put out, and will commence discharging th?s morning. CITY OF CORINTH DISCHARGING. The discharging ot the City of Corinth is proceeding satisfactorily, and to date about half of the 6180 tons has been put out. PAKEHA WITH PASSENGERS. The S.S. and A. Company advise through their agents (Messrs. Newton King, Ltd.) that the I’akeha, with 900 passengers from Liverpool, is to arrive at Wellington to-night and will berth to-morrow morning. The vessel afterwards proceeds to Australia to discharge cargo, and then comes back to New Zealand to load. New Plymouth being her first port. THE' KIA ORA. i The Kia Ora was due at Auckland on Saturday from Lyttelton to discharge and load. The vessel will later come to New Plymouth and Wanganui, at which ports she will load, and she is due at Wellington on March 13 to fill up. The vessel’s departure for London. via Cape Horn, has been arranged for March 17. CANADIAN SCOTTISH REPORTED. Advice has been received by the agents to the effect that the Canadian Scottish was dispatched from Vancouver on February 22 for Auckland, Sydney, and Melbourne. The vessel is expected to reach the northern port on March 20. WANGARATTA LEAVES NEWCASTLE. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Wangaratta left Newcastle on Thursday for Timaru, where she is due on Monday. The vessel will load for Home at Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington. TAINUI LEAVES SOUTHAMPTON. The Shaw, Savill Company announce that the Talnui left Southampton on February 23 for Wellington, Auckland, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers. The vessel is due at Wellington about April 4. TEKOA’S SUCCESSFUL TRIALS. Cabled advice has heen received by the New Zealand Shipping Company to the effect that the new steamer Tekoa carried out a series of successful trials at Home on February 21. The vessel has been fixed to load at the West Coast ports for New Zealand, leaving Liverpool on March 25. AN EX-GERMAN LINER. JAPANESE LINE’S OPERATIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Feb. 26, 5.5 p.m. New York, Feb. 24. The White Star liner Homeric has arrived on her maiden voyage. She was formerly the German steamer Colombus, and was taken over by the Reparations commission. The Nippon Yusen Kalsha. has announced that its Pacific service will be reduced in April by the substitution of four six thousand tonners for the present ten thousand ton liners, and passenger fares will be reduced by a hundred dollars, larger boats will be transferred to the European service, which is carrying forty-seven thousand passengers, monthly.—Aus.-N.Z.
