WANGANUI MEETING. CONCLUDING RESULTS. MARTIAL DAWN WINS BIG HANDICAP. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Feb. 25. The Wanganui J.C. autumn meeting concluded to-day in beautiful weather, the track bejng in excellent order. The totalisator handled £40,163, against £62,763 for the Second day of the last autumn meeting. For the meeting £79,339 was recorded, as against £122,241 last year. Results: HARRISON HACK HANDICAP.—Mark Time (S. Anderson) 1, Helen Rufus 2, Kedlogue 3. Also started: Sunny Jim, Equitable, Rada, Wheatfield, Erie, Molleen Oge, Tireless, Legato, Left. Won by two lengths, a length and a half separating second and third. Time, Imln 56sec. AUTUMN HANDICAP.—Quest 1, Ruatara 2, Vespucci 3. Also started: Volo, Crucelle, Illumination, Scion (coupled with Quest), Pasain* Through, La Paloma (coupled with Ruatara). Won by two lengths, a length separating second and third. Time, Imln 46 4-ssec. JACKSON STAKES.—Gloaming (G. Young) 1, Tamatete 2, Thespian 3. The only starters. Gloaming caught Tamatete two furlongs from the post, winning by two lengths, one length separating second and third. Time, Imin 11 4-ssec.—a track record. FORDELL HURDLES.—Te Maire (S. Walls) 1, Khartoum 2, Fibre 3. Also started: Simon, Complex, Halcyon. Won by four lengths, the third horse a length further back. Time, 3min 13 3-ssec. OKOIA HANDlCAP—Enthusiasm (A. Reed) 1, Zany 2, Snatcher 3. Also started: The Emperor. Won by half a length, the same distance separating second and third. Time, Imln 14 l-ssec. WANGANUI STAKES; one mile and a half. —Martial Dawn (A. Dixon) 1, Kllrush 2, Rude 3. Also started: Ngata, Trespass,* Foo Chow, Egotism, Landslide, Egmont Park. Martial Dawn was always handy, and went to the front at the bottom of the straight, beating Kllrush by a length and a quarter. Rude a length and a half further back. Egotism was fourth. Time, 2min 33sec —a record for the race. MATARAWA HACK HANDICAP.—Roman (A. Reed) 1, Whiritas 2, Mockery 3. Also started: Voluble. Numerous falls occurred, but with no serious results. Kautahoe broke a leg in the steeplechase, and was destroyed. The totalisator handled £20,568 10s. The victory provoked intense enthusiasm. Eurythmlc has established a claim to be considered the greatest racehorse of all time in this part of the world, making Stake winnings £31,505, against Carbine’s £29,626. The jockey L.
