A DRAFT AGREEMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Associathm. Auckland, Feb. 24. At a meeting of the City Council, attended by the Hob. J. G. Coatee, the Mayor (Mr. Gunson) gave an outline of the negotiations for the prosecution of the Arapuni hydro-electric scheme. He submitted a draft agreement for the supply of power and its purchase by the council or power board. It had been agreed that the council shall purchase from the Minister the whole of its requirements in the power board district. The construction of the Arapuni scheme ehaq proceed forthwith, with a view to power being delivered in Auckland in April, 1928. The outstanding point vital to settlement is the guarantee for which thp council is asked, in r& spect of quantity and price. These points are still under consideration.
