EX-GERMAN SHIPS.
SAUK BY THE ALLIES. BRING TWENTY MILLIONS. USE AS REPARATIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Asan.—Copyright. Received Feb. 23, 9.5 p.m. London, Feb. 22. ■ Lord Inchcape, reporting on the sates of ex-enemy steamers, which he undertook to carry out voluntarily on behalf of the Reparations Commission, says he dealt with 94 passenger steamers, sailers and trawlers, and 324 cargo steamers, aggregating 2,530,01'6 tons, which realised a total of £20,000,000. The only vessel he failed to sell was the Prinz August Wilhelm, which is lying irrecoverable at the bottom of the sea off Columbia. “I understand,” he adds, “she is to be left to the Germans.” The total expenses in connection with the sales amounted to only 3ld per cent, on the realisations. —Aus.N.Z.
