Regulations have been approveti by the Minister for Education and confirmed by the Government for the allocation of the reductions to be made in the pay of teachers in accordance with the Public Expenditure Adjustment Act. The reductions are as follow: — (j Public and Native Schools. Head or sole teachers.—Grades G and 7, £l5; grades 2 to 5, married £lO, single £l2; grade 1, £1; grade 0, no reduction. Assistants.—Grades 2A to 8, married £lO, <single £l2; I and 2, £lO. Relieving teachers. —Grades A and B, £10; C or higher, married £lO, single £l2. Pupil teachers and probationers, £lO. Secondary Schools. Principals.—Grades 1 to 10. £2O; 11 to 18, £25; 19 or higher grades, £3O. Assistants.—Grade A, £l5; other assistants, married £lO, single £l2. Technical Schools, ■Principals.—Classes 1 and 2, £l5; 3 to 6, £2O; 7 and 8, £25; 9 or over, £3O. Assistants and instructors. —Class 6, (division 1) £l5; classes 1 to 5 (division 1) and classes 3 to 6 (division 2) married £lO, single £l2. All other teachers an£ instructors £lO. Training Colleges.
