WESTFIELD STOCK MARKET.
By Telegraph.— Press Association Auckland, Last Night. At the Westfield beef market to-day there was a large entry and a steady demand. Heavy cattle again receded slightly and others were unchanged. Extra choice ox made 255, choice and prime £1 2s to £2 4s, ordinary and. plain 18s to £1 Is, prime young cow and heifer beef £1 to £1 4s, ordinary cow 16s to 19e. Heavy prime steers ranged from £8 10s to £lO 2s 6d, lighter prime £7 to £8 ss, light prime £5 15s to £6 17s 6d, unfinished and small steers £3 10s to £5 10s, heavy prime young cows and heifers £5 5a to £6 15s, lighter £3 15s to £5, other cows £1 to £3 I6e. Sheep.—An extra large yarding and a falling-off in demand. Values further declined. Extra heavy prime wethers brought 22s to 235, heavy prime 19s 6d to 21s 9d, medium to heavy prime 16s 9d to 19s. Lambs.—An extra large entry. Although there was a steady demand values were easier, especially for unfinished. Best heavy prime made 22« Gd to 25s 3d, lighter 17s 6d to 21s. Calves.—Extra large numbers with good deman4 for choice vealers at previous rates, though plain were lower. Runners brought 50s to 755, heavy vealers 55s to 70s. . . Pigs.—A large entry. Competition was steady and there was no change in values. Choppers made 35s to 52s 6d, heavy haconers 75s to 84s, medium 65a to 725, heavy porkers to light baconero 53s to 635.
