RUSSIA WANTS FOOD.
BAD CONDITIONS CONFIRMED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrlgtt. Received Feb. 22, 8.15 p.m. London, Feb. 21. Mr. Benjamin Robertson has returned from Russia. He confirms Sir Philip Gibbs’ harrowing stories, and advocates that assistance should be given to two existing British organisations in Saratoff and Buzulk to expand their operations. He recommends concentration on adultfeeding. The transportation of foodstuffs before the first week in April is highly problematical, but thereafter relief could usefully be extended if funds are available. The Australian Government’s relief supplies had not arrived at the end of January, when he left Russia. —Aus.-N Cable Assn.
