NEWTON KING, LTD.. REPORTS At Whangamomona sheep fair on February 15, in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency ’ Company, we submitted a full yarding of sheep, in all about 8000, to a good attendance of buyers. We report an almost complete clearance at the hammer, at prices, although a shade below those just previously ruling, satisfactory to vendors. We quote: 2-tooth ewes 17s lOd, 2 and 4-tooth do. Us Id, 4 and 6-tooth do. 15s, failing mouth ewes 4s 3d, mixed sex 2-tooths 14s, lambs 5s lOd, 6s 3d, 7s 6d, 9s, cull do. 3s 7d, 4s 3d, 2 and 4-tooth wethers 10s 6d, Ils 6d, 12s 3d, 12s Bd, forward do. 13s 6d, 14s 6d, 4 and 6-tooth do. 12s sd, 14s Bd, 6 and 8-tooth wethers 133 Id. At Ohura on the 16th inst we had a full offering of sheep and small one of cattle. Although there was a noticeable dragging tendency throughout the sale fair average prices were eventually obtained, and the bulk of the offering changed hands. Fat lambs 17s 9d, cull lambs 2s 3d to 4s lOd, ordinary do. 7s 9d, 8s 4d, 2-tooth ewes 10s 7d, Ils 3d, fresh full mouth ewes 7s, 10s 6d, failing mouth do. 3s 2d, 5s 6d, 2-tooth wethers 9s 6d, Ils 7d, 15s lOd, fat 4-tooth wethers 17s, 235, bullocks £3 10s, better conditioned do. £5 6s, fat cows £5, 2%-year steers £2 3s, £2 Bs. At Waiwakaiho on the same day the whole of a moderate yarding of both sheep and cattle was cleared at the hammer. Lambs 9s 3d, full mouth ewes 9s, fat cows £3 10s, store do. 20s, 32s 6d, forward do. £2 4s. 2-year-old steers £2, £2 ss, 15-month old do. 255, heifers r.w.b. £4, weaner heifers 14s 6d. 19s, £1 9s.

At Inglewood sheep fair on February 16 a full yarding was offered, a fair amount of which was sold. Prices were for the most part on a par with those at present ruling. Lambs in farmers’ lots and good breeding ewes afforded most inquiry. Lambs 4s 9d, ss, 5s 7d, well-grown do. 8s 4d, 9s 6d, rape do. 12s, 12s fid, 13s, 4-tooth ewes Ils 6d, 14s 3d, 4 and 6-tooth do. 13s 4d, full mouth ewes 7s 9d, 8s 9d, falling mouth do. 5s 3d. At Urenui on the 20th inst. a fair yarding of sheep was fully cleared. The sale had an easier tone. Store pigs Ils 6d, 2-shear Romney rams one and two guineas, lambs 8s lOd, cull do. 4s Id, ss, fat ewes 14s 2d, mixed aged ewes 10s, 8-tooth do. 7s sd, cull ewes 3s sd, wethers 13s sd.

At. Burford Road on the 21st inst. we conducted a clearing sale on account of Mr. P. A. Badland, and report a very good clearance. The cows sold as high as £,lO, the herd of twenty averaging £6 ss. /

FEILDING EWE FAIR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Feilding, Last Night. The Feilding annual ewe fair was held today. The yarding was smaller than usual, about fifteen thousand being penned. TARANAKI SALES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency. Company, Limited (Hawera branch), report as follows : On Friday, 10th Inst., we held our Palmer Road sale and weaner fair. There was a large yarding of all classes of stock, the bulk of which comprised medium and Jersey cross weaner heifers. There was a good attendance of buyers, bidding was brisk throughout, everj' hoof sold under the hammer and a most satisfactory sale resulted. We quote: Jersey weaner heifers (medium) £3 to £3 15s, small Jersey weaner heifers to £2 10s, Jersey cross Holstein and Shorthorn 28s to £2 ss, fat cows £3 17s 6d to £4 Bs, forward cows £2 18s 6d to £3 10s, works bulls £2 to £4 10s, lambs 8s to 9s, sows in pig £2ss.

At Kakaramea on Monday, 13th inst., we offered .a good yarding of both sheep and cattle to a fair attendance. Bidding was fairly brisk and the bulk of the yarding was quitted at prices satisfactory to vendors. We quote: Fat and forward cows £2 15s to £3 10s, store cows 15s to £1 17s 6d, 18-months to 2%-year steers £2 to £3 9s. Jersey weaner heifers to £3 10s, works bulls 30s to £3 ss, lambs (good) 13s 6d, others £3 to £5 7s. On the same day at Opunake we had a medium yarding and disposed of the whole entry at the following prices. Fair conditioned cows £2 5s to £2 10s, cows in milk £5 to

£5 ss, cows with calves £2 5s to £2 10s, works bulls (medium) £2 15s, 18-months Shorthorn heifers r.w.b. £3 3s. Immediately after the above sale we conducted a very successful sale on account estate of the late G. S. Taylor. Furniture and sundries sold at good values and heavy draught horses made from £25 to £39.

At Eltham, on 15th inst., we had a full yarding of both sheep and cattle. There was a good attendance, all the cattle sold at late values, but bidding was lagging at the sheep ]>ens and the bulk of entry was passed in. We quote: Pen fat heifers and young cows made £4 His, others £3 to £5, forward cows to £2 15s, others at (market value. Works bulls £>l 5b to £3 10s, dairy cows to £7 10s, 18months Shorthorn in-calf heifers £3 15s, 18months steers to £2 10s, Jersey cross weaner heifers (medium) £2 3s 6d, others 265, ewes' 9s 3d, lambs (medium) to 7s lOd. At Hawera on Thursday we had a goo.l yarding. We quitted the whole entry before leaving the yards at prices on a par with recent sales. We quote : Fat cows and heifers £4 to £5 9s, fair conditioned cows £2 10s to £3, others to £2 ss. s'cers £3 4s. Jersey weaner heifers (good) • 7s 6d, others £2 3s to £3 is, steers I Lt. works bulls 30s to £5 10s, prime 2-tooth sheep 20s, rape lambs Ils 6d, medium lambs (Is to 8s 6d culls 4s, baconers to 375, weaners 5s to Bs.’ At Waverley, on 17tt inst., we offered a good yarding of sheep and a fair entry of cattle. Bidding was not as spirited as at the previous sale, however, we effected a total clearance of ail lines of stock and sundries. We quote: Fat and c forward weathers 18s sdj 2 and 4-tooth wethers 13s 6d, 6-tooth and f.m. wethers 12s to 12s 6d, 6-tooth and f.m. ewes 9s 2d, 4 and 5-year ewes 10s 2d, 4 and ."-.veer wethers 9s, 2 and 4-tooth ewes 12s Id Sundrlba Mold at good value*.
