TAHORA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) On the evening of Saturday, February 11, the Tabora Settlers’ Association met in the school. Mr. Kennedy occupied the chair. It was agreed to write to the Minister for Lands regarding the increase of wild pigs on the timber reserves. These pigs are doing considerable damage to neighboring proper.y. A communication was received from the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce concerning a proposed visit to Tahora. It was decided to make all necessary arrangements for the visit. On Friday a number of scholars from Tabora joined the excursion to Newe Plymouth. The train left Tahora at 6.25 a.m. and returned at 9.30 p.m. Fortunately the day was fine, and so a pleasant, although strenuous, day was spent. The excursion catered for tne schools from Tahora to Toko. Including adults it is said that there were about Ijoo on the train. The weather at Tahora still continues very dry. A good downpour of rain would be welcome.
