WEDDING.
DAVIES—RUEBE. A very pretty wedding was solemnised in St. Mary’® Church, New Plymo nth, yesterday afternoon, when Mr. Victor Caddy Davies, of Wes town, son of Mr. W. B. Davies, of New Plymouth, was married to Miss (Dorothy E. Ruebe, second daughter of Mr. C. W. Ruebe, of Vogeltown, and formerly of Ngaere. Archdeacon Evans officiated, assisted by Rev. F. G. Harvie, vicar of St. Mary’s, rhe service was a choral one, Mr. R. N. Renaud presiding at the organ. The bride, who was given away by rter father, was attired in creme French silk crepe-de-chine, with orange blossoms and veil. She carried a handsome bridal bouquet of New Zealand native orchid®, gypsophila tuberose, roses and maidenhair fern and asparagus trailers. She was attended by* hpr sister, Miss Ruebe, attired in t>axe blue silk crepe-de-chine, with black tulle hat relieved with lemon, and she carried a bouquet of lemon antirrhinums, gerbera and blue delphiniums. The bride-
groom, a returned soldier, was attended by Mr. Len Leary, also a returned soldier. The bridegroom’s present to the bridesmaid was a brooch of aquamarines and pearls. After the ceremony a reception, attended by over 60 guests, was held at the Hygienic tea-rooms, the usual toast® being honored. Later the happy couple left by train en route for the Main Trunk,’ the bride’s going away dress being a navy tailor-made costume with hat to match. The presents were numerous and valuable, including a number of cheques. Mr. Davies was also the recipient of a handsome French clock set in rosewood and suitably inscribed —from the staff of Duncan and Davies. Ltd., of which he is the managing director. The bride was also the recipient of a silver teapot from the workers of St. Mary’® Sunday School, with whil>h she has been actively connected fOi some years.
