AMERICAN INVESTIGATION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Feb. 21, 9.10 p.m. New York, Feb. 20. The American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers received a report from a committee which declares thr.t Japan has three centuries’ oil supply at the present rate of consumption, while the United States has only twenty years’ reserve. The engineers are holding a conference, and will discuss the oil and mineral situation of the entire world, including Australia. They are urging the adoption of a foreign international mineral policy by Congress.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
