Received Feb. 21, 8.10 p.m. London, Feb. 21. Mr. Ammon is an official of the Postal Workers’ Union. He declares a factor in his victory was the working class alarm at the Geddes educational proposals, and a fear that scholarships would cease to be available to workers. (At the general election the voting was: Newton Knights (Co.-U.) 6010; Hearn (L.), 2177; Ammon (Lab.), 2175.)
