Thfe Rarawa arrived from Onehunga early yesterday morning with passengers and 80 tons of cargo, including 8 horses for the Wanganui races. The vessel sailed again for Onehunga at 5 p.m. Due at New Plymouth at 5.30 am. to-morrow, the Rarawa sails for Wellington in the afternoon, and will return to New Plymouth on Saturday, sailing for Onehunga that night at 8.30 p.m. CITY OF CORINTH ARRIVES. The Ellerman Hall vessel, City of Cor»uth (6363 tons), arrived off New Plymouth nt 11.45 p.m. on Thursday, and was brought alongside 3 at 6.40 yesterday morning by Captain Waller (harbormaster). She has 6130 tons of coal to discharge for tbe Railway Department, and •will be in port at least ten days. Captain T. Field is in command, and has wi’h him the following officers: Chief, A. J. Philip • second, A. Carrie; third, P. Wright; chiei engineer, W. E. Hornby; second, J. D. Driver; third, G. Roberts; fourth, J. Beechein; cadets, T. A. Dexter and T. L. Harrison; radio operators, H. Griffiths and C. Evans: chief steward, D. J. Walker; and four quartermasters. THE WAIOTAPU. M The Union Company's inter-coionial passenH ger steamer Manuka arrived in the stream s at Wellington on Monday from Sydney direct. Q The Manuka left Sydney at 4.15 p.m. on g Thursday with 282 tons of cargo and 87 " saloon and 69 steerage passengers. The vessel experienced strong easterly winds and head seas on Friday, followed by light easterly ‘ winds and smooth seas on Saturday, increasing to strong south-easterly winds and moder<9 ate sea fran Saturday evening until arrival. ’8 The cargo includes transhipments ex Follen- | go (front United Kingdom), Largs Bay (from g United Kingdom /la Ceylon), Peshawur (from | United Kingdom, via Ceylon), Kanna (from P Tasmania), Rlverina (from Tasmania), and | Zealandia (from Australian ports). | CARGO FROM PACIFIC SLOPE. The Union Comr>any have received caDte advice tl at the Waitemata left. Vancouver last Thursday for Ocean Falls, Powell River, and Union Bay. She is expected to reach San Francisco on March 4 to complete her loading for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne and Sydney. ATHENIC AT WELLINGTON. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s liner Athenic arrived in the stream at Wellington on Monday morning from London and Southampton. The Athenic loaded at London, and then proceeded to Southampton to embark her passengers. She left Southampton on January 12, and experienced excep- ! tlonally fine weather throughout the voyage. Colon was reached on January 2.8, and the voyage was resumed from Balboa on the following day. Captain J. E. Crossland is in command. The Athenic will put out part cargo at Wellington, and is to leave there on Saturday to unload the remainder.
MARAMA FOR WELLINGTON. The Union Company have received a radio message from the R.M.S. Marama, en route from San Francisco via ports, stating that the vessel is expected to arrive In the stream at Wellington at 5 o’clock to-morrow morning. THE MAHENO. The Union Company advise that their in-ter-colonial passenger steamer Maheno arrived at Sydney on Monday from Wellington. She will , leave the New South Wales port tomorrow for Auckland. HUNTINGDON FROM HOME. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that-the steamer Huntingdon (ex Munsterland) is to leave London early in March cargoladen for Wellington and Lyttelton. CANADIAN SPINNER. Murray, Roberts and Company have received cable advice that the steamer Canadian Spinner left New York on January 31 I cargo-laden for Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, Bluff, and Australian ports. The vessel is due at Auckland about March 13, and at ' Wellington about March 20.
