In the Peel case the village postnaster gave evidence that he incorrecty timed the telegrams because he bought a gentleman in Mr. Peel’s posi:ion would not work a trick on him. A few days later Mr. Peel said to him: ‘Stick to the time, 2.45.” A new turn was given to the case vhen Dow, the sharebroker, denied tele>honing the name of the winner to Mrs. Peek He admitted that he had made B different statement to the police.
