STRATFORD AGENCY. Advertisements and items of news for publication in the Taranaki Daily News should be left at the office of our local representatives, Wilson Bros., Broadway, Stratford. Orders for papers may also be left with th ecu GENERAL ITEMS. February 18. Mr. R. D. Lewers returned last night from a trip to Christchurch. Two Stratford ladies,' Misses F. I. McAllister and A. Manoy, have passed the final examination for M.B. (Bachelor of Medicine), entitling them to practice. Both are ex-pupils of the Stratford District High School and students at ths Dunedin University.

Miss Ida • Boon has been appointed tenth assistant at the Stratford School. Other appointments to Stratford are: Brenda Ross, G. J. Hall, E. McMillan (pupil teachers) and M. Bremmer (probationer).

There was a good number of visitors to Stratford to-day, the beautiful weather which was experienced no doubt being an inducement to take the day off and “do the town.” Tuesday will probably also see a large quota of visitors.

The Stratford Musical Society held a very successful opening practice last Monday evening. Practices will be continued every Monday evening, and new members since last season, will the society, which has already gained welcome further assistance. A programme which will be given at the Ngaero Gardens on Good Friday is at present occupying the attention of the society. The Plunket. Society’s baby show will be held at Mr. H. E. Abraham’s grounds at Page Street on Tuesday. Mr. R. Masters, M.P., will open the function at 2.30 p.m.

School stationery can be bought at reasonable prices at Wilson Bros.’ agency of the Daily News in Stratford. School pages, 3 for 2/6 ; exercise books, 80 ruled pages for 7d each. Also commercial stationery of all kinds at Wilson Bros., Broadway, Stratford.
