AEROPLANE FROM ELTHAM.
ARRIVAL AT AUCKLAND. An Avro aeroplane, belonging to the New Zealand Aero Transport Company, arrived in Auckland on Thursday afternoon at 2.30 from Eltham, a distance of 245 miles. The machine left Eltham at 11 a.-a. and reached Hamilton at 1.15 p.m., averaging a speed of 70 miles an hour for the whole trip. Captain J. C. Mercer was the pilot, and he was accompanied by Mrs. Mercer and Mr. A. J. Salter. The aeroplane, which came originally from Timaru, is fitted with a limousine top, enabling the passengers to sit in comfort without annoyance from the wind.
