TRADE STATISTICS.
EXPORTS AND IMPORTS. HEAVY DECREASES. The imports into New Zealand for the three months ended December .31 last totalled £7,539,568, including £74,405 specie, as compared with £18,416,184, including £5910 specie in the corresponding quai of the previous year, a shrinkage of £10,876,616. Imports from United Kingdom were £3,752,628, against £9,574,219, from Canada, £192,309 against £631,535, from Australia £1,426,454 as compared with £2,359,508, and from the United States £1,207,135, as against £3,539,212. The following table gives the exports and imports for each quarter for the past two years. The figures are exclusive of specie:
